The most amazing show that I ever had

Today is our final exam and also our performance day. OMG! I’m so nervous! I’m so scared that I’ll forget my lines again.

No longer, the show starts. My eyes actually open wide like a gold fish’s eye, everyone’s performance are so real! OMG! Now I feel pressured. Ishhhh!!!

Left half an hour and is my play! Ok, Wilson stay calm, stay calm. Just like last time, just give it all! Take a deep deep breath! * inhale, exhale* Phew, everything will be alright. Applause heard and I going to make this a great show. The stage is mine!!!!!

During the play, we all changed everything. I feel that we’re really in the pub and I hope that there will be laughter during our play. Well, just a little. After that, my play finished and I think that I didn’t good enough and I feel that this time is even worse than the rehearsal but everyone(classmates)  told me that I did well and I treat it as a comfort. Ishh! Hope that Mr. Rey like it.

After around 20 minutes, our show finished and we all go on stage to give a bow to the audience. Everything is done!!!!!! Finally! I met Miss Pat, my Theatre 101 lecturer and I ask her about my play and she says that I improve a lot! YES! Mr. Rey gives everyone a hug and praises us. So I ask him about my play also, I didn’t disappoint him! Thank you! Another thing, Mr. Rey postpone the deadline for our journal. Thank God! Thank you again Mr. Rey!

Before we leave, we take a group picture and clean up all the stuff in the experimental theatre. Good job guys and I’ll miss you all! Also thanks to Mr. Rey for the teaching!

2 days rehearsal

We’ve been spending 2 days for full dress rehearsal and that is Saturday ( 28 April) and Sunday ( 29 April). We practice this in experimental theatre ( our classroom) and I feel that experimental theatre is like my another home.

Who am I?

-My name is Aaron Ben Tucker. A freshman from University Buffalo. He is a nerd who wants to be cool.

Where am I?

-I’m in a pub and learning how to spike a drink, so that I can become a famous guy in pub and many girls will like me.

What time is it?

-Is almost midnight. Tomorrow I’ve class but for the sake of being famous and like by many girls so I’ve to master this technique.

What surrounds me?

-Colorful spotlights, Techno music, hot men and women dancing on the dance floor and some of them are drinking. Salazar, the pro in spiking drink is teaching me how to spike ( a shot glass of whiskey and some mickey pills).

What are my relationships?

-Salazar is sort of like my teacher. I want hot chicks stick to me so I’ve got to learn and master the technique of spiking drink.

What are the given circumstances?

-Get it down the technique then hot chicks will stick to you. If you don’t master it, you’re wasting your time and money and no hot chicks will stick to you.

What do I want?

-I want to master the spiking technique so that many hot chicks will be beside me.

What is in my way?

-Salazar is teaching me his technique but I don’t want to follow it and I recommend mine to him. Salazar disagrees.

What do I do to get what I want?

-I argue with Salazar.

Full costume and props for play (1st time)

20 April 2012 ( Friday)

Today is the day we use all props for the play. So I dress up like a cool dude and waiting for my partner. No longer, he arrived and he calls me to buy a Coke to treat it as beer for the play and Mr. Rey is happy that I pick the correct prop and that is the NY cap. HEHE! Thanks Mr. Rey!

After watched a few student’s play, now is our turn. So we exactly what we do in rehearsal but we just start our play not long and Mr. Rey starts to improvise us. The tone we use must be appropriate, sometimes the sentence of the tone is slow or fast or strong etc.  After that, Mr. Rey orders me to use up more space-walk around. So basically, use up more space and use appropriate tone.

Now is waiting for Mr. Rey’s prediction grades and comments. Listening other groups comments from Mr. Rey and grade prediction, I’m kinda scared because everybody’s comment is like “ You’re lower B bla bla bla bla bla…” “ Now Zong Zong’s group.” Oh no this is scary and I’m nervous… “ Well, you both did well and is around higher B.” Did I listen wrongly?! OMG!!!! The prediction is HIGHER B!!! Woohoo I’m so happy! But Mr. Rey said that we still have much more work to go on. Anyway, we will do better during the performance.

Today, Mr. Rey wants to help the Wednesday group students with their final play because last week's Wednesday is our country's Ah-Gong's birthday so is a public holiday. So, me and the other students in the Friday's one either we stay in class watch them to perform or go outside the class and do our rehearsal.

I want to look what is their play about and also we're kinda lazy to rehearsal for now. So we find a place to sit and watch their play. The 1st group is Celine and Teck Sern's play. Starting scene, Celine open the door and she mumble a sentence to Teck Sern which I can't hear it clearly. Yeah, Mr. Rey also says that to them. REPLAY! So again, Celine opens the door and says to Teck Sern that don't walk to loud. Ok from this sentence, I can see that most probably is talking about a baby and probably they are husband and wife. Then the line continues that Celine is like showing Teck Sern the baby but surprise me is Teck Sern actually say the baby is ugly. WTF?! And they start mumbling again, man this is so tiring and boring I can't really stand it if they keep continue doing like this. Thank God! Mr. Rey keep improvising them with that few sentences that I just mention. From the open door part and then the way of their talking-tone. I seriously still can't get it what are their relationship are they best friends or husband and wife or what? =.= Man I'm losing concentration now.

No longer, their turn end. Now is Wei Lim and Filza's turn. Also another one, mumbling =.= but this mumbling is loud but not clear LOL! So Mr. Rey improvise them with emotions,feelings,tone and also spacing. I'm getting sleepier =.=

Lastly is Lih Seng and Valerie's group. They are pretty good but not really realistic that's what Mr. Rey said. Their play is like talking about a guy and a woman their secrets have been dug up and the guy is frustrated about this and the woman came and sort of like convince him. Their scene is at a bar. So their improvisation from Mr. Rey is not that much but he said to them that they need to improve more.

So from all this play and improvisation that Mr. Rey taught them. I sort of get some idea about my play.

Pre-show time

13 April 2012 ( Friday)

Today is the day we need to present 2/3 of our scripts and also we need to set our scenes. Ish! I hardly can memorize it, there's too many long sentences OMG! Ishhhhhh!!!! C'mon just memorize it before the class starts!

Memorize, memorize, memorize! YES!! Finally get it down. Hope that my partner also get his lines down. Mr. Rey is here! And he gave us 20 minutes time to make ourselves be prepared. Nice one! Me and my partner quickly take our scripts and walk out from the classroom to get an empty space. Ok let's begin! We practice as usual.

No longer, one of our classmates tells us times up. Crap! Hope everything will be fine later. 1st group is Eric and Joshua. Their set up scene is a table and they both sit facing each other. Begin with Joshua eating his imaginary burger so the scene is sort of like McDonald's but the scene they set up, for the audience they only can see their side face and hardly can see their emotions. So they kinda forget the Theatre 101 exercise-blocking. They should've  adjust the chair at 45 degree so that the audience can see what they're doing. Besides that, I can't hear what they're saying. No projection. Of course, Mr. Rey comments them about their voice projection and also their actions and tones. So far of Mr. Rey's improvisation, they only manage to complete not even 1/3 of their scripts. HAHA! Yeah! This also goes to everyone including us.

Next is our turn, we set up 2 blocks as a bar scene and the most shity part is we can't find any stools for our bar scene so end up we standing and we use 2 empty bottles as the whiskey glass. Once we start, Mr. Rey starts to giving comments about the tone and yeah we did it. COOL! Like it! But... man, things just screw up like this-Forget lines. I seriously don't know where to continue. So we just continue. HAHA! Before Mr. Rey stops us, he tells us that we have to used up the space that we have when we're on the stage. Then is Vhina and David's group. Their set up is kinda cool, I dont know how to describe it but is like 2 of them stand on their own positions and do their own monologue. After that is Sam and Lycel's turn. Their play is about a woman stuck in the elevator and she was asking for help. Thus, a conversation begin with sort of like a guard. Something interesting happen, I can't believe that Mr. Rey actually wants Lycel to take off her clothes and left bra and panties because it is part of the script. Man, I feel pity on her. If she really does this on the performance, I wonder what the audience will think.

Another New lessons

9 April 2012 ( Monday)


Another day of lessons again~ What is it again~... Everyone is here warm up again. Ish!

Now, Mr. Rey freezes us again. He said imagine a character which is heavy and slow, directly. He gave us about few minutes to think about it. Of course we have to walk around and think of it. This really stucks in my head-"Who am I?". Hmmm... Yeah! Think of one! After that, Mr. Rey tells us to show how is your character walks, how is your character wake up and be prepared. Well, my character is a gym trainer and he walks quite slow with his shoulders open widely. How is the character wake up? HEHE, mine is easy. He woke up, straight go to the bathroom brushes his teeth and take a shower then go to gym. But before that, " Something unexpected happened!" Mr. Rey said. So, while I'm brushing my teeth, I saw a cockroach under my legs. Yeah! Shocked! And straight step on it but it ran away. Never mind, continue preparing... Next, what is your character doing now. My character is now building his muscles, slowly, take his own precious time. Again! "Something unexpected happened!". Ok, I actually like heard someone is arguing something, so I just take a quick look and then back to my own business. Last part, Mr. Rey says that our character now is in a karaoke room and we need to pick a song for our character. Great! I don't know what to pick, so I just simply sing a japkor ( japanese + korean) song. HAHA! Unexpected! Mr. Rey points some of the students and want them to sing it. He wants to see how our character sings. OMG but lucky, I didn't get picked. *Phew*

Next character is light and fast, direct. Easy! Within a few minutes I've already got one and that is gangster. Yeah! Like the previous exercise. Of course this character is a fast but lazy. Lazy in don't like to wake up early and room is messy. What is his job? My character's job is collect money-loan sharks. Freaking fast when doing his job. Unexpected happened! I ran away because the cops are coming. Now in karaoke room. My character sings like hell, he yells and he dances.

Another one is heavy but fast. Yeah! Who am I? I'm a businessman, manager rank. Always in a rush. He is a strong and powerful character. Wake up, rush to toilet then to work. In the office, unexpected happened. I receive a phone call from a client. Karaoke room again. Well this time my song is slow and lovely. HAHA! This character loves it. XD

Last one is light and fast but indirectly. Great! I don't know how and I just do it. LOL! I'm a runner. So Mr. Rey asks us to count 1-20, how our character counts it. Yeah! my character counts like he is doing a warm up. What my character do, he always jog every morning and he is an athlete. Something unexpected happened again. I accidentally sprained my ankle. Karaoke time, my character sings energetically ( High). He sings Justin Bieber's "Baby". Mr. Rey wants me, Adam and Wei Lim to sing together. LOL! So is like a triplet. HAHA!

Before class end, Mr. Rey asks us our comments about this exercise. This is freaking cool! And Mr. Rey said that we can actually use this exercise to find out what is our character look like for our final performance.

Practising

6 April 2012 ( Monday)


Everything is just as usual. Early wake up, reach campus, walk in classroom then sleep while waiting for class to starts. When Mr. Rey came in, he saw me and Sam sleeping but I woke up 1st and he asks us is this a hospital. LOL! Speechless.

Today we're gonna practising our scripts. Mr. Rey says he will more focus on text and emotion and tone. Before that starts, he calls us to warm ourselves up then say our lines. Next, face your partner then hold hands and say the lines. Then use both hands put on your partner's shoulder, make eye contact and say the lines. After that, while saying our lines we can use our both hands shake our partner's shoulder act as an emotion.

Now the real lessons starts. Mr. Rey orders us to take 2 chairs and 4 blocks. Then Mr. Rey chooses 2 groups to do 1st and the other 2 will go out from the class and practise their own script. So 1st is my group and Vhina's group. They do their script 1st. Mr. Rey wants them to face each other, make eye contact put down their scripts, both hands on top your thigh whereas me and Zong Yong help them to read their line, each of them. When we read their lines, they have to repeat it again with tones and emotions. Mr. Rey also will help by questioning them. Such as " What is this word mean to you? Is it angry?" , " What do you feel when she speaks like this to you?", " Try to use other tone for this sentence." and others. Is kinda annoying if you didn't get what Mr. Rey is teaching you and you always stuck there repeating the same line.

Now is my group's turn and is their turn to read our lines for us. I can't believe that this exercise really helped a lot! With those questions that Mr. Rey gave us, we exactly manage to identify character's tone and interruption. Time is running up so Mr. Rey have to stop us here and he calls other groups to come in whereas we all go outside the class and rehears our lines like what we did just now and we continue it. Me and Zong Yong actually like try and error for the lines. CRAP! Some sentences I really can't get it and I do it again and again, still can't get the tone. Zong Yong is just like " do it again, do it again, do it again". Come on if you just call me to repeat again and I still don't get it why don't you just tell me how is the tone like but I didn't say that to him I just stay calm and ask him to demonstrate for me.

No longer, Mr. Rey calls us to come in the classrooms and he tells us that we need to memorize 2/3 of the lines and the play for the next week's class.

2 April 2012 ( Monday)


Lessons. Lessons. What lesson Mr. Rey gonna teach today? Hmmm... Straight away, while waiting for the class to start I sleep in the classroom again. Almost 8am, Mr. Rey is here but again seems like some of the students getting late again. General excuses- Traffic Jam but what I heard from my friend if not mistaken is somewhere KL or Subang area is flooded because of heavy rain so I guess most probably is this reason they came late for class. Eventually, Mr. Rey wants Celine to make a " No Entry" sign n paste it outside the classroom door. I thought today we'll have very less people in this class. No, most of them ignore it and walk in the class. HAHA! Mr. Rey didn't scold them that's nice.

Before the class starts, Mr. Rey wants 3 blocks and place it in different places. Then warm up~ shake yourselves, walk around, imagine imagine imagine... After this, Mr. Rey wants us to be in character. The character for our play. He orders us to imagine our character way of walking then say out some of our lines. Besides, he also tells us that while we walking we can look at the mirror so that we can see our character. After that, Mr. Rey calls us to lie down on the floor. This exercise is like Theatre 101-Imaginary. This exercise is not imagine a scene but is imagine your character. Imagine your character's attire, character's habit etc. I almost sleep but I'm not and I seriously blur when I always do this exercise. I don't know when need to wake up all those and Mr. Rey wakes me up, he thought I was sleeping. LOL! I'm NOT!! But never mind. Then he calls us to stand up without opening our eyes. He calls us continue imagining our character slowly from the leg then the attire then preparing to bed. How the character sleep then suddenly something happen. Other than that, Mr. Rey then slowly calls us to open our eyes then he gives us a condition is before your scene starts, what is your character doing. He asks us how your character wake up and do his preparation and then something unexpected happen then continue preparation. Mr. Rey gave us 10 minutes to do anything before our scene starts.

After my preparation then I have a phone call from my friend then I head to a bar. While waiting for my friend I order a drink at the bar. Times up. This exercise finish very quickly after that is the last session. Discussion. Mr. Rey asks us is this exercise helps a lot for characterization. Seriously yes!

Class end. Now, me and Zong Yong need to read the scripts for Mr. Rey. Finally, we finish and Mr. Rey thinks that the 2 plays that we read to him are good but we choose Woozey Woo is far more easier than the other play.

Do Nothing But listen

Today everyone must have already choose 2 scripts from the book that Mr. Rey gave us and we need to read it. Not just read it normally, we need to know the characters in the script. Hence we have to be in character when we're reading.

Whole day night before today, 4am started to rain non-stop. Seriously can't sleep properly not because of the rain is because of the thunder. Ishh! Time to wake up, still raining. My area is almost flooded, thank God! Great! I wonder how am I going to campus if I reach at Subang station and is still raining although I have an umbrella with me but I still don't want to get any part of my body wet. Pray! Pray! Pray! Lucky me, the rain get small a little at least but pity Vhina because she can't made it to the train station. Her place is really flooded! This is the 1st time our area get flooded!

Reach campus, LUCKY!!!!!! Seems like everyone is gonna be late I guess because of the rain yesterday. ( No one is inside the experimental yet) So I continue my sleep when I'm in the classroom. Almost going to 8, finally everyone is arrived so as Mr. Rey.

This time no warm up and Mr. Rey orders us to take a chair for each of us. We need to sit with our partners. 1st is Sam and Lycel. Their 1st script is about the elevator, a woman traps in the elevator and a man who is in the security cam chat with her and make her calm down. Their 2nd script I can't really get it because I'm not concentrating >.<. After that, Mr. Rey asks our comment whether which script is better. I prefer the 1st one because is interesting but their setting is one people on stage and the others not, Mr. Rey recommend that this kind of play is kinda hard. Next is Joshua and Eric. Their 1st script is "Guys". This whole story is talking about a guy's topic-girls while both of them r having their lunch at McDonald's. The characters name is Ty and Duff. When they are chatting, Ty noticed a pretty girl behind him and he asks Duff to help him. Ty wants Duff to say "Hi" to that girl and then he will join in the conversation but Duff refuses and he calls Ty to do that for himself and he challenge him to do that. At the end, the girl is gone when Ty wants to say "Hi" to her. HAHA! I like this story, so cool! Next script is " Woozey Woo". This story is talking about Salazar teaching Aaron about how to spike a drink and weird and interesting stuff happen. HAHA!

Next is Vhina and David. 1st script is about a student and a teacher. The student actually call for a consultation because of her attitude and then the student actually talks back to the teacher. I can't remember their 2nd script and now is our turn. We've no choice to choose the 2 women play because there are no 2 guys play in the book. Well we have one but is one on stage and the other off stage. So Mr. Rey calls us to take another book and find 2 new scripts again and read it to him at the Monday class.

So that's how is it. Mr. Rey then talk about how are we gonna act well in this play and is for our FINALS! So he recommend us to Google our script and understand their character's background. Such as what is the character's age, day of birth, the way of talking, movement...etc.

New Lessons

26 March 2012 ( Monday)


Today Mr. Rey is gonna teach new lessons and he said is characterization. Cool! Wonder is it harder than scene work. Before class starts, I reach campus and went in the classroom. NOBODY IS INSIDE! And I thought today's class cancel because its gonna 8am. Well, eventually everybody is kinda came late a bit but they made it on time.

Warm up again~ ( I always use this to wake myself up). Imagine scene and act a character. This time Mr. Rey more focus on Malaysian style. I noticed that Mr. Rey kinda like Malaysia a lot and I think that Mr. Rey also like the way that Malaysian talk. HAHA! He orders us act as a Malaysian. After that, Mr. Rey freeze us and he chooses each of us to act again then random movement. I run like a comedian LOL! Then freeze again, another scene. This time is act as a standard 1 student- Malaysian. I act what I really experienced when I was at that age. I cried because I don't want my parents to leave me. After that, Mr. Rey do the same thing again but this time he wants us to act previously what we do and then freeze us and he calls us to use all the words that we spoke just now and use it in the primary school scene. Looks awkward but Mr. Rey only chooses two people to act.

No longer, Mr. Rey told us about today's lesson and he brought some sort of utensils box and I saw a wig. HAHA! So I'm sort of know what is going to happen but what amaze me is Mr. Rey actually brought masks. Those masks are like what I watch in TV programme like those magician playing with their cards and wearing with those masks. And some of them are like those centuries statue, I don't know how to describe that. Mr. Rey then explains that the masks are holy to the actor and we can't use our hands to touch them and also Mr. Rey tells us that when we put the mask on, let the mask determine your character. Mr. Rey then demonstrates for us once. He wears the mask and then he became an old man. An angry old man. After he finishes his acting, he took off his masks and he become his own self back.

Now is our turn, I hardly remember who came out and act 1st but I remember almost all the character that they established. 1st is the sexy character and the other is boring one. Then comes with dancing character and the other is a beggar. Mr. Rey also make this exercise more interesting, he asks us to give them a name and we can ask them a request. After that, a inner beauty girl with a popular guy. This time, we're running out of time so Mr. Rey give them a scene and then is my turn. I act as a Malaysian boyfriend and Leanne is my girlfriend also Malaysian and we're having vacation on Paris after that, we walk to a restaurant to have lunch and I try to kiss my girlfriend but she don't want. So we sort of argue and then the waitress-Vhina come and help us out and give us a drink and we get "hot" and we make out. Take the mask out, Oh God! I finally can breath fresh air!

Just another day

23 March 2012 ( Friday)


Today is my "2 assignments need to present day", feeling not energetic 'cause not enough sleep yesterday. Yesterday my briefing sleep I took about more than half an hour and I finally managed to get to light sleep stage and that time is almost 12am. Crap!

8am sharp, class starts. Warm up again~ Walk vigorously, dance, imagine that something danger besides you... Well, this exercise Mr. Rey will give us a signal ( bang the table) that when we will move freely ( do whatever movement you want) and he also will give a certain scene for us to act. After a scene, he'll call us to freeze and he will give us another scene and he also wants us to continue the scene with the freeze movement that we previously did. We walk then crawl then freeze then new scene. This exercise ends about 15 minutes.

Exciting and nice exercise began. Mr. Rey wants us to get the nearest partner and also like last week's exercise. He wants us to cooperate with reaction not conversation and began any scene. My partner is Sam again, this time my scene is I saw an accident and I want to help the victim whereas Sam just stand aside and nervous then I'm pissed off that Sam didn't do anything so I ordered him to call the ambulance. " Freeze!" Mr. Rey stops us and just like the previous exercise, he wants us to use our freeze movement to continue a new scene. This time Sam is making a shy boy scene, he tells me that he like that girl and I encourage him to take action. "Freeze!", so fast? Now what?

Mr. Rey now make a new exercise. I think is almost like a "Give and Take" exercise. At 1st, 2 people will act their own scene then Mr. Rey will shout out freeze then one of us will have to volunteer to come out and tap either 2 of them and replace their action. After that, began a new scene but we can't say NO in the scene 'cause we will cut the scene and interesting part. Wei Lim and Joshua are the 1st who act their scenes. Wei Lim seems like a loan shark and he grabs Joshua's collar asking him to give his money back. "Freeze!" after that Sam tap Wei Lim and he imitates Wei Lim's freeze movement. Unbelievable, they actually make a love scene. Eww! No longer, Mr. Rey shout freeze and if not mistaken I think is Lycel come in and she taps Joshua. Another new scene that is couple argument about sex. After that is Vhina, she taps Sam and they began a scene I think is an argument about chicken. Then is my turn, I tap Lycel and I don't know what the hell I'm going to do. So I just randomly say " Yo! Wassup" and Vhina just answer me back " Yo!" LOL! And I don't know what came in my mind and I started to teach her dancing. Ya! She don't know how to dance so I teach her. Relationship in this scene- Teachers and students.

Ehhh...Oh shit! I can't remember who's next but I know the end of this exercise is me and Eric and he shot me. After that is the assignment presentation time. I thought we need to present 2 of them but we just need to present the latest one. HAHA! Nice! Okay, from the whole presentation that other groups did. I feel that our scene is very weak, so I ask Zong Yong whether want to change our scene but he insists it. No idea then.

Now is our turn, I just present it and I know this scene has a lot of weakness so I just stay silent when Mr. Rey asks questions. But some of them comment that if we act as room mate is better than what we act just now. So I act as the straight guy whereas Zong Yong act as the sissy guy and we hate each other. And Mr. Rey improvise us a lot and we finally finish it. CLASS END!

Another crappy and exciting day

19 March 2012 ( Monday)

Crap! Crap! Crap! What the hell! I Miss the bus. Put the blame to the train. I've wasted RM15 on a taxi and the actual price to campus is around RM 8 ( If the taxi driver use the meter). And holy shit! The taxi driver say is cheap because 2 people only cost RM7.50 each. Lucky Vhina is with me so we can share the money.

Arrived at campus, walk in classrooms. This time my mind is spinning about the Friday's assignment and today's meeting for rehearsal. Oh! Zong Yong is here! Great! Before the class starts, Zong Yong and me discuss about the Friday's assignment and book about 10 minutes play. Zong Yong never make any move yet, hmmmm... Never mind. He promised that he will read it.

Mr. Rey is here! Wonder what exercise will he give today. Before the class starts, he wants a full scape paper and lucky I have one. So I gave it to Mr. Rey. Wonder what he wants to use with that thing for our exercise. As usual we warm up and shake ourselves out. After that, this exercise is so way cool! Is like our childhood game called " The Eagle Catch The Chicks". This childhood game is like an eagle wants to try to catch the chicks whereas the mother will try to protect them. 1st, Mr. Rey calls us to walk around. After that, Mr. Rey calls my name and I don't know what happen, everyone is trying to avoid me. I'ma like WHAT? One of my friend told me that I need to catch them. Fine! This is easy for me. HAHA! I touch Lih Seng or Leanne I forgot, either one of them and of course we switch character. They need to catch us. After that, this exercise is getting interesting. Mr. Rey change the rules of the game, he wants the people who been caught will join them and they need to shout out the numbers of their members. Oh yeah! Bring it on, I'm good in dodging. HAHA! This game continues about half an hour and is getting more and more exciting. Oh ya, Mr. Rey also narrowed the space of this game because he don't want everyone is running behind the mirror. Now only left 2 of us, me and Adam. "Let's do this man!" Adam give me a high 5. "Survivors" game start! We run together and we stuck together. At last, I'm the one who escape from the caught. HAHA! Mr. Rey announces " The winner is..." He points me. HAHA! Its been a long time that I've this kind of feeling.

No longer, Mr. Rey hands each one of us a full scape paper and he orders us to be in our assignment group and take a pencil or pen. After that, Mr. Rey calls us to write a normal sentences whatever comes into our mind. I wrote " I'm enjoying playing guitar.". Next, we gonna tear that and fold it. Is like a ballot for me. After that, Mr. Rey wants an exclamation sentence. I wrote " What the hell!". This continues with a question sentence- " Why game is so fun to play with?" This sentence really makes me feel I'm a weirdo, almost half of the class is like " HUH!?" when Mr. Rey say it out loud. Is there anything wrong with this sentence? Or is there any grammar mistakes? Ishh! Last, Mr. Rey wants a title of a song,book or a movie. I wrote " I Won't Give Up"

Now, Mr. Rey will randomly pick a paper and we need to write it down as a script.

After we write down the script, Mr. Rey as usual wants us to read it with our partner then we've to act with high status and low status. This exercise is similar with previous one. I found out that this time, me and my partner cooperate more and we've more reaction than last time. Next, Mr. Rey wants the scene to be flirting. OMG! This is gross, NOT AGAIN! But no choice. This time, we act more GAYIER! Eww! But Mr. Rey seems happy. HAHA!

Class is going to end and he wants us to rehears more on this and make our own scene. This is our assignment. CRAP! 2 assignment we need to present on this Friday? Ow man!

Unlucky

16 March 2012 ( Friday)


Today is the worst day that I ever had. Almost the whole exercise that Mr. Rey teach today, I actually didn't have any idea at all. I mean I can't think of anything. What a pain!

That day before Mr. Rey starts the assignment, he gives us a briefly warm up and exercise. 1st, he orders us to group with our own partner and we have to say the lines in the script that he previously gave us. He orders us to rehears our own scene. After that, he wants the scene to have a change based on 1 people's action and he don't want it to be a conversation. This is totally a mess for me, I don't know what to do and my partner, Zong Yong always do the same emotion and action. I think about the change of the scene about more than 30 minutes and I think of loan sharks. Lucky man! I notice a little change of the scene. Next, Mr. Rey wants us to have a combat conversation I think, he orders us to grab each others hands and say the lines with anger. This scene I imagine it was a fight between father and mother.

No longer this exercise end and he calls us to prepare our props for the assignment. We're fully prepared but we actually screw up. I act as a surgeon whereas Zong Yong act as a patient. I don't know that surgeon doesn't give anaesthesia and I screw up this whereas Zong Yong said that the patient want to die during the surgery OH GOD! I totally stunned! Seriously I don't know what to say and I also noticed that Mr. Rey also found out weird and he asks him a bunch of questions and he can't answer, even I also don't know how to answer. Mr. Rey gave us another chance to change the content of our scene ( Operating Theatre).

After that, we think of a new idea. I still remain as the surgeon but Zong Yong become the nurse and now our story is about the surgeon don't dare to operate the patient because of 1st timer and the operation is a serious operation. However, Mr. Rey also don't agree this because he said that surgeon doesn't scare of doing operation. He gave us a tips that in this scene doesn't must be a doctor operates the patient and he gives us an example that we can play the doctor gloves in the operating theatre.

I get it! I wanted to break our conversation into few conflict within the scene but Zong Yong said that he'll think of others. Ok then, he found 1 and I also agree it but Mr. Rey stop it because our class times up. Ish! I hope time can pass slower.

Mr. Rey wants us to do it again next week with other scenes. Our other scene is "Bedroom". I hope we can do it better next week. Ish!

Today I almost, ALMOST can't wake up from my sleep but what a lucky me. My grandma shake me up like she is shaking a doll. From the whole journey to campus, all what I want is a good sleep so that I can can concentrate and have more energy in theatre class.

Nice! I've reached at campus about 7.20am and I still have a little time to sleep in class. HAHA! I walk into the class and some of the students already arrived. So, I pick a slot and then straight go to sleep but I can't really sleep because some of the students at there talking. OMG!

Very fast, the class starts and we greet Mr. Rey. Mr. Rey then asks us about the mid term and any comments or criticize of it. I don't have any comments because I think that my mid term is good enough. Normal activity before the real lesson starts-warm up. This time's warm up is a bit special, we hit our face, massage our lips, hit your chest and others. I saw someone hit his face damn hard and he actually "OW!". HAHA! After that, Mr. Rey orders us to find a partner and then "wake" each other up through hit each others bodies. LOL! This warm up end up a fighting exercise.

Now only the lesson starts, Mr. Rey asks whether we've already paid the photocopy fees to Celine and some of them haven paid yet. Never mind, Mr. Rey then assign the students into group. 1st is the Wednesday group students then the Friday group. My teammate is Zong Yong and for my impression of him, I think he is quite a cooperative guy. Then, Mr. Rey gave each group 2 books and he calls us to find any play in the book within 2 weeks and if not mistaken we need to perform in front of the public. That's cool.

No longer, Mr. Rey gives us a script and then calls us to get back in our group that he previously assigned. After that, he calls us to pick a character in the script and then just read it. The reading that Mr. Rey wants is without any meaning of it. Then this exercise continue with high status and low status. At 1st is A be the high status and then switch status. Next is the silence beat, every sentence we say must have at least 1-3 seconds silence.

Now, this is fun. Mr. Rey orders the A's students to stand up and be a big bully sort of and the B's sit down. Then we switch character and then Mr. Rey says that after the big bully bullies enough, the B's should walk away from the big bully. After that, the big bully try to reconcile with the B's.I found out is kinda hard sometimes because some of the character doesn't really express their character from the script and every sentence in the script is only 1 word. After that, is the flirty scene and then the bed scene. This is really GAY! OMG! But me and Zong Yong like can cope it. HAHA!

Class is going to end, before that Mr. Rey gave us another assignment that is based on what we did just now and we also must follow the script and we can repeat the words. My group, Mr. Rey gave the scene is Operating Theatre and Bedroom. GREAT! Again, bed. OMG!

Mid Term Exam

9 March 2012 (Friday)


Today is a big day for me! And I gonna perform it well with my partner, Sam ( Korea guy). I can say that Sam is a joker, so he suggests me to write a little jokes in our script. Ok, I try to and we rehears it with 2 days and total hours is 1 and a half.

Today, as usual I came early to campus and then I also told Sam that we rehears it again in the class about 7.30am. YES! He arrived and he showed me his props that I told him and everything is perfect. So, we rehears again and we also asks for others students opinion and most of them say is ok.

Mr. Rey is here! Finally! I really want to get out of this test as soon as possible. This time, I don't know what happen to everyone, everyone actually greets Mr. Rey very loud LOL! After that, Mr. Rey starts his dramatic moment and he orders us to warm up ourselves and start rehearsing again for our mid term.

After a few minutes, Mr. Rey gathers us and he calls us each group pick a number between 1-4, I pick 2. GREAT! The last group to perform, HAHA! The 1st group is Lycel and Zong Yong. Zong Yong act as a private detective and his attire can say is almost lookalike and he bring out this character by the way of putting his legs on the table. LIKE A BOSS! Whereas Lycel act as a rich woman and she is going shopping. That shopping scene can proves with the way of putting the blocks and the high heel shoes. The whole phone conversation is talking about the detective actually threatening the woman for paying him double the amount of her husband give so that he'll not spread the woman's scandal to her husband. I feel that this conversation is a bit weak because Lycel actually at there shuffling her feet and some words from Zong Yong I can't hear him.

Next, is Vhina and Joshua. At 1st, Vhina set some sort of cloth like on the floor whereas Joshua in the office. I thought Vhina is acting as a beggar but she wasn't. After the whole conversation finishes, I only found out that she is in the camp. Overall, this phone conversation is about a girl (Vhina) is very concern about the environment and she complaints that a company which says to protect the environment but the company didn't do what they suppose to do.

After that, is David and Eric's turn. Their phone conversation I'm not really clear about because I'm at the backstage preparing for my props but what I know is, their conversation is all about sex stuff. LOL! I can feel that, their performance is awesome! Last, finally is me! Be cool. After that, I signal Sam to enter the stage together. Sam acts as a taxi company receptionist whereas me is a mid 20 guy name called Adam that is planning to propose to his girlfriend. This whole phone conversation is about Adam called the taxi company receptionist and he in a rush for his big date but the receptionist feel irritated because Adam is disturbing his lunch time and the receptionist is being apathetic and he told to Adam that that is no taxi around his area and then the receptionist hang up. What I feel surprise is, we improvised it and I satisfied of my performance.

Now is Mr. Rey comment time. He told to my group that he like our entrance but we end it too suddenly and when he asks me 1 question, " What do you do for your living?" I actually answered wrongly but he thinks that I didn't prepare enough. What I heard of the last word is " leaving" that's why I answered wrongly. Never mind and sorry Mr. Rey >.<

Tiring but end up excited

Seriously very very very tired when I try to get out from my bed at the time of 5.30am. Why? Because I didn't have enough sleep yesterday and very regret I read a book during my bedtime. Ish! I think I can't perform well for the theatre class later. My eyes are so heavy now.

I've slept through out the whole journey to campus and I still can't get rid of my sleepiness. Ish! But no choice I force myself to be awake. No long after I enter the class. This really makes me awake, our class is like under renovation. WTH!? And of course I was waiting for other students' reaction when they arrive. HAHA! All of their reactions were very funny when they arrived include Mr. Rey! HAHA! Orders from Mr. Rey, keep those things off and keep our class back to normal. LOL!

Ya! We all cooperate to "clean" this mess. After the "cleaning" and Mr. Rey starts the lesson and suddenly a bunch of Taylor's workers bump into our class. Mr. Rey was actually quite pissed off about this. Before we warm up, he asks us the same thing. " Any questions for the mid term?" Well none of us answered it.

Warm up starts and today almost all the exercises is for our mid term. At 1st is the exercise of voice control, Mr. Rey wants us to make a "hmm" sound and with tunes. After that with "ahhh" and our class end up like a choir seriously. Exercise continues with find a partner and sing " I Love You" 3 words with high tune and low tune and then " I Hate You".

Next, Mr. Rey calls us to walk around as usual and he gives us a condition and imagine it then we just talk what we want to talk. After that, Mr. Rey wants us to find the nearest partner and talk simultaneously. This exercise continue with switching partner while talking. After that, one talks and the others listen whereas the people who listen need to get a key point from the people who talks and use that word to start your own topic.

This exercise is very long man, it continues with mirror imitation. That is we imitate our partner but we talk our own topic and is quite hard actually because I'm out of topic to talk.

Besides that, Mr. Rey orders us to take a block after that again walk around and talk all the way. This time, Mr. Rey wants us to play voice control so he'll orders us when to whisper and when to talk loud. After that, Mr. Rey calls us to stand on the block and he says that one of us gonna start any topic and the others listen and use the key word from that people who is talking, continue any topic you like. Addition! We can be our own self that is Malaysians. Pity of some foreigners in our class, they can't understand some of our language and they end up don't know how to continue our topic but Mr. Rey gives them to start their own topic.

Alright, now this exercise is gonna be interesting. Now Mr. Rey calls us to find another partner again and sit down together on a block and do the "give and take" conversation with your partner. Me and my partner, David we actually talk about love. He is talking about his wife shot by a Japanese army during World War 2 whereas I'm talking about my love life. After that, Mr. Rey point out a certain group and that group gonna perform for him. When he points our group, David start the conversation 1st and then I cooperate with him with the "give and take" technique.

Last exercise is looks like almost similar but now Mr. Rey gives a new condition and that is imagine any scene  and then start a story and end it with a group. Again David is in my group again and add 1 more person that is Lih Seng. Lih Seng suggests us that we act a school office scene, David act as the principal, Lih Seng act as the rebel child whereas me as the child's father. The story starts with the father came to the school from a principal about his son's problem and then the principal complaints about his grades and his doing in school. The father doesn't believe in it and during the conversation between the father and the principal, the son walk out from the office rudely.

As usual, Mr. Rey gonna points the group to perform and our group is the last. We follow what we actually did just now but Mr. Rey wants the condition to be changed. He wants the principal to be strict and whereas the father is scared to the principal. Ya, it end up very funny and David can't stop laughing so we repeat this scene a lot of times.

Class end and Mr. Rey told us that the exercises that we do just now is all gonna help for our mid term. Cool!

Screw Up Day

2 March 2012 ( Friday)


Today I thought I'll give my best shot to Mr. Rey but seems like is NO! And as usual I prepare my script, beat sheet and object exercise. And I know clearly what I'm gonna do later.

Yeah! I screwed up because I can't really show to Mr. Rey that I'm actually in the dance studio and also the 4th wall that I'm using. I treat the 4th wall as a big mirror in the studio and Mr. Rey says that I didn't establish it clearly and my dance steps are like martial arts. Great! Because I'd received a lot of comments of that so I'm fine with it and Mr. Rey also says that I didn't use the space provided properly. GOSH! I sure lose a lot marks because of this minor stuff. Ishh!

After that, he calls Sam to sing any korean song and he sang " Sorry Sorry" and I not really know how to dance this dance but Mr. Rey insists me to dance and use all the space provided. Ok then, hell it up. Who cares, so I just simply dance. Mr. Rey says that he wants that kind of feeling from me. Ok, I'll do it better next time.

Class is going to end and mid term is next week. Cool! This is gonna be tough and my partner is Sam. HAHA! this is gonna be fun. Our mid term is 2 person's phone conversation and the condition is 1 of the them must forced to hang up the phone and call back. Everything is as usual that is the props, scripts and most important is the rehearsal. Class end! See you next Monday Mr. Rey!

ACTING ACTING ACTING!!! I LOVE ACTING!!!!

Again Theatre class, what are we going to do today? Question marks appear on my mind but pity me and Vhina can't manage to catch the bus because the train is late. HATE IT! And we took a taxi that cost us RM6 each. SAD!

We used the back door of the classroom again not because it is closed but the doorknob haven't repaired. "Good service" from Taylor's University. As usual, Mr. Rey asks us whether we've any problem for the assignment and also as usual we didn't answer him. HAHA! He also told us that better to have a script because we can speak our own language that he not really know most of it, so he needs a translation HAHA! Besides, he also gives us examples about the assignment.

After that, warm up time and very fast we go into the main point of the class. Today almost the whole day is about "status" acting. Mr. Rey split us into 2 groups and each group will have the chance to play both of the "status" and that is the "high status" and the low status". At 1st, Mr. Rey calls us to walk around and the 1st group will act as the gangster status. The 1st group people gonna pick the 2nd group people then do anything that gangster do to the weak people. YEAH! I never do this before and is so fun. After that, the 1st group turn to a smart ass people but didn't look down on the 2nd group people instead comfort them and encourage them. OMG! This is quite hard because I'm not a smart ass and I really don't know how to convince him. Now we switch status and the 2nd group now is the rich people whereas us the 1st group is the poor people. This condition is the rich guy doesn't look down on us but they willing to help us anything they could help.

Next exercise, we need a block for 2 person and then Mr. Rey gave us a short script paper and he says that 1st group, the salesman is "high status" whereas the customer is in "low status", 2nd group is the opposite way. So, me and my partner Eric we practice through the script 1st and then with more emotion. Next, Mr. Rey change the condition and he wants the 1st group people, those with the "low status" gradually change to the "high status" whereas the 2nd group is in the opposite way.

Ya! Me and Eric will gonna be the good one. So we practice practice and practice and when is our turn we improvised actually. LOL! At 1st , I act as a customer that is in the "low status" and I want the salesman to show me the ring but he seems like doesn't even care about me and also look down at me. After he showed me the ring, I told the salesman that this ring doesn't suits my wife and I also told him that I gonna have a wedding and my budget for the wedding ring is RM 5 million. The salesman shocked and he changed his viewpoint in a sudden. Of course, I also try to make fun of him. I kept switching my decision for the wedding ring and I pick the most expensive ring that worth about RM 10 million. The salesman asks me whether I pay through cash or card. Of course is card and we want it to end it with the bill went through but Mr. Rey changed our condition that is the credit can't pass through. Ok then, I use the other credit card also can't pass through. WHAT!!?? The salesman tells me that when I've enough money only come and purchase back the ring. And that moment, I really don't know what response to give so I just HMPH! End scene!

Class end!

A satisfaction and A happy day!!!!

My TOEFL exam finished! Although I already finished it last Friday HAHA! But I still want to say it out loud, FINALLY! And I've a good mood today because of this and also I'm fully prepared for the assignment that Mr. Rey gave last week. BOO YA! Let's do it again!

Good morning~ I've reached campus again and with my friend Vhina as usual because we came with the same bus. HAHA! Early walk to the class and check out again whether the classroom is locked. Cool! This time it didn't locked instead when I open the doorknob, I accidentally "break" it. Damn! I wonder who the hell break it.

HAHA! When Mr. Rey came in, he actually piss off ,sort of and he also said " This is Taylors and 'Malaysia Boleh' ". Great, HAHA!  Everyone is here then is warm up time! After that, Mr. Rey calls us to be prepared and also props. Ok I wish I was the first to act but nope, Eric is the first. He is in his room cutting his fingernails and then he receives a phone call from his friend. After that, I can't really know what he is doing. Is he in the garden now? or is he still in his room? Because he is shuffling his feet. But what I know about the phone conversation is he is giving excuses to his friend. Well, I can see that Mr. Rey is not very satisfy his performance and he tells him that be prepared next time.

Next one, is it David or Lichelle ( Sorry if I spell it wrongly)? Can't remember clearly. Never mind, I'll explain David's 1st. He opens his laptop and then plug in an earphone. After that, he receives a call and is from a customer. What character is David playing? Hmmm... Oh! He is the receptionist of a hotel and the customer wants to reserve a room. Ok now this is very weird, I mean the customer. He asks David whether he can bring another guy to his hotel room and David explains that he can but don't do those "things" because Malaysia country is forbidden this behaviour. HAHA! what a customer. I think that was good and Mr. Rey seems like also satisfied with it.

Next is Lichelle and I not really concentrate on her acting. Don't know why >.< But I did watch a little bit and what I know from her acting is like something is going to hurt her or something through the phone conversation. Ok then, Mr. Rey turn to asks her something. What Mr. Rey asks only I know what is happening. LOL!

Ok now is my turn, YES!! I brought my laptop into my room and then start playing computer games. After that, I receive a phone call and I feel frustrated about it. I don't like people disturbing me when I'm playing games. Who knows, is my girlfriend who called and I was shock but I still continue playing computer games and also try to focus on what she is talking to me. Nope, I can't do it and I let my girlfriend scold. I try to convince her but she insists me to close the game. Fine! I close it and she wants to hang out with me, a movie then I agree her and asks her to sleep early. The end! I can see that Mr. Rey is quite happy for my performance but he don't know that I'm talking to my girlfriend, maybe because he can't hear my "Dear" word clearly. He comments that I not really alive in the scene so he called Lichelle to act as my girlfriend. OMG! this is so real LOL!

Class is going to end and he gave us another assignment that is 3 phone conversation in 1 scene and at least 3 props. This time the conversation can be anyone and also can speak in your language. Well, I think I need to make a translation script for Mr. Rey then HAHA!

5th day of Theatre Class

20 February 2012 (Monday)


Another day for Theatre class again. Hoping for new games and activities HAHA! Today I'm so tired just don't know why. Arrived at campus too early, HAIZ! Funny part happened, me and Vhina thought that the class door is opened but is not and we try the back door also not! HAHA! And we wonder that how we gonna start class and also wonder that how is gonna be Mr. Rey's reaction. At last, all students gather outside the classroom and waiting for Mr. Rey. Finally, HAHA! Mr. Rey came and he was wondering why are we standing outside. Well, we told him why and lucky he got keys for the back door.

Ok then, everybody warm up gonna start!! Before that, Mr. Rey asks us that we've any question for the assignment, for me no but he still explains it again and he gives us more detail and example this time. After that, warm up starts. As usual, I can't really hear Mr. Rey!! I'm sorry sir, your voice is too soft!

I love this moment and is very tiring seriously because I can't control my body movement properly. Mr. Rey wants us to find a partner and then hit each others butt and we also need to like taunt them. Cool! After that is slow motion and I hate this part because most of them who become my partner cheat. Mr. Rey say slow motion, they do but at the end of the peak of gonna hit my butt they suddenly become fast. GRRR! Mr. Rey did point out some of the students about that and now he wants us to be sexy and attract your partner but the hitting butt is still on. My partner is a girl and I can see that is not a problem for me and her but the question is how am I gonna be sexy? I've never seen any guy been sexy before. So is kinda hard for me and I think every of the guy in my class does. Mr. Rey knew it HAHA!

This exercise continue with silly looking when you being hit and then violent. LOL! everyone is like becoming a beast. Exercise end, Woooo! Tiring and I'm sweating hard. Then next exercise, imagination. This exercise is like Thtr 101, lie down on the floor and then imagine what the lecturer said. Again, I can't hear Mr. Rey! I should have move in front a little. Ishh! After that he calls us to take a block simultaneously and then sit on it. Wonder what activity is this. Ok then, now this exercise is like eye contact and is also a part of a scene work. Mr. Rey orders us to find the nearest partner and he calls us to look in each others eyes. Ok let's do it and I've the same partner again and now this is really awkward because I've never look into people's eye that long and she is a girl not a guy. OMG! And same problem I can't hear Mr. Rey >.< At 1st, I look into her eyes and I see nothing and I don't know what to see and feel. After that, Mr. Rey tells us that we can do action but I can't hear clearly so I didn't really do any action but just a wink and a little body movement. I feel like I don't want to look at her anymore its so tiring and weird. During that exercise, I saw something in her eyes. I saw she is getting frustrated HAHA!

YES!!! Mr. Rey calls us to end the scene, finally! After that, Mr. Rey asks us some question about that exercise but I can't remember what he asks because that moment what I concern is I've test now! I need to go!

4th day of Theatre Class

15 February 2012 (Wednesday)


I'm actually the Friday class student but I've TOEFL exam on that day so Mr. Rey told me to come today's class. Yeah! I've done my rehearsal and I also have brought my props so I think today I'll not be the audience again.

Before the class start, all the Wednesday students arrived and some of them start busy writing their objective, super objective and beats. So that's the reason why they came so early. HAHA! I can see that everyone are already fully prepared and full of confidence.

Here comes Mr. Rey! Good morning~ As usual, mark attendance and then warm up. Walk around, around and around. During the warm up, Mr. Rey calls us to do our rehearsal. Some sort of recap and self preparation. After a few minutes, acting starts! 1st is Valerie. She open a door and then threw her key. I think is a car key and it seems like she just came back from school. She on the air-conditioner and I guess she is in her living room. After that, she go to her refrigerator and find something to drink, the end. I think overall is ok but for Mr. Rey, he spots a lot of weakness in her acting. I can't remember most of them but what I remember is Mr. Rey spots that when Valerie is drinking, he asks her does she drink without opening the bottle? And she answered that she usually put her drink without the closing the bottle. Mr. Rey says that the audience doesn't know that what you usually do at home.

After a few students acting and now is my turn. I peep, peep and peep and I was actually like giving myself more time to cool down because I want to hand in a love letter to someone I like into her drawer and that moment in the classroom have a few students and I don't dare to walk in. After that, I decided to walk in and then I slip off and fell down. OMG! so painful and I was so embarrassed so I quickly put the letter into her drawer and escape. Mr. Rey asks me where am I that time, I answer him that I was outside a classroom. He was impressed with my falling and he asks me again how did I fall, I told him that the floor was a cement. Mr. Rey refutes that cement can't be so slippery but I told him that my high school classroom is like this and I made the same mistake what Valerie made, that is the audience don't know. Besides that, Mr. Rey says that I didn't show the audience that I'm embarrassed when I fall down that moment. Alright, I should look up more and I not really did it just now.

Class going to finish and Mr. Rey explains to us that when acting, we can't play with the feeling and every action that we do will lead to a feeling. Besides, he also told us about the 4th wall and the 4th wall is actually pretend that we didn't saw the audience when we're acting. After that, Mr. Rey gave us another assignment and that is a phone conversation. The duration for that conversation is 45-90 second and we need at least 3 props, specific conversation and people and during the conversation must have a pause. He also teaches us that when we're on the phone, our mind appear that people's image.That's all for today and I'm satisfied for my performance today.

3rd day of Theatre Class

13 February 2012 (Monday)


Today I feel very lazy to wake up so early in the morning but no choice. All is because of the class starts at 8am and I don't want to be late again.

Same daily activities-reach campus and have a small breakfast then go to class. Simple ha! I was wondering what we will do today? Is it another scene work? Well let's see later.

Before class starts, Mr Rey asks us did we start our journal and I think most of us answer is yes and he starts to explain again what we gonna write in our journal and he also recommends us to get a sketch book to note down everything because he says that our memory disappears very quickly, guess so. He explains about the journal thing about 30 minutes and I can see that some of them are starting yawning, including me >.<. Sorry Mr. Rey!

Warming up exercise again, that is pretend you're in a situation. I just don't know why I sometimes can't listen to Mr.Rey clearly seriously and after a moment Mr. Rey says that you're in your room and you very wanted to do something. This moment what I only think is I wanted to play a guitar and when I do that action, Mr. Rey stops me and calls me to do other stuff. Well, I don't know that we can't use imaginary items so I pick out my handphone and "talk" to someone.

Another condition, Mr, Rey says that our stuff  something gone wrong and we're trying to fix it. This exercise continues about 20 minutes if not mistaken. Excitement arrives! Ball games and I thought is the same exercise again but is very very different from the previous one. This time is when we throw the ball, we're gonna have a people to become an interference and he can do what he/she wants but cant touch us. At 1st is a guy who keep shouting and like mentally abuse? I guess so. After that, here comes a girl. Same way and when the ball turns to me she look at me and say " Four Eye" I really actually get piss off when she says that and I reply her " SHUT UP BITCH!"

This game is fun and we have a new condition. When the ball turns to you, you have to act with the "interference" and if the ball drops we can scold the "interference". How nice! Game continue! After that continue with David. He act as a psycho people and he laughs all the way. OMG! Next is Valerie, she act as a sexy girl and when she is facing a boy she'll be very seductive, if is a girl she'll be a mean person. A moment is when she faces Sam, she walk to his way and Sam asks her whether she wants his "ball" or not and everyone laughs at it. Mr. Rey calls us to continue and tells us that we will spoil the act if we keep laughing but everybody can't stop laughing include me. HAHA!

After that, Mr. Rey wants the condition at high school year. A girl came up to act as the interference and she act as the famous girl in the school. I like this part because I feel like I'm back in high school HAHA! It seems like when she faces most of the boys, she like seducing them and the boys some of them are stunned, embarrass and feeling aggressive whereas me, the kind of don't care.

Game finish! And now is time for discussion. Mr. Rey asks us anything that makes us why we sometimes can't be spontaneous raise up your hand. I raise and I told him that I can't hear the "interference" clearly. Mr. Rey tells the class that we can do body movement when we can't hear another actor clearly.

Class going to end and I'm going to attend the Wednesday class because I have TOEFL exam on Friday. And Mr. Rey also remind us of the previous assignment that is the 2 minutes acting and he also tells us that he needs a paper about the beats, super objective for him to look at it. Great! Stress man!!!!!

2nd day of Theatre Class

10 February 2012 ( Friday)


Today is the 2nd day of Theatre class and I told myself that I'll not be late again! And I feel myself today quite efficient, took the 7am bus and arrive at campus around 7.30am. HAHA! And a small Loacker chocolate bar for my breakfast.

8am SHARP!! Class starts and seems like most of them are gonna be late for class. Mr. Rey is starting to mark attendance. Luckily some of them manage to came in fast and 1 thing that is very surprise. A male student came in and Mr. Rey asks him whether is he in this class and he answer YES, Mr. Rey asks him whether is his 1st day in class when he wants to answer, Mr. Rey scolds him about his lateness, so innocent. Honestly, I didn't see him before in the 1st class.

Right now, we're going to show him the 1 minute act that what he asks us to prepare last class. Before that, as usual warm up, imagine. After that Mr. Rey asks us whether we did rehearse or not. He said if the people who did rehearse line up in 1 line, whereas those who didn't do the rehearse sit and watch them act. Well, I feel bad but no choice so I became their audience.

At 1st, Mr. Rey wants to look at their 5-10 second acting after that all over again with props. Another condition, those who didn't bring their props will be joining me and the others and 2 people came out from that group.

Ok, acting starts. 1st is a girl, she came to the stage and finding her bag planning to prepare to go to somewhere but she saw a magazine and it distracts her. She starts to read the magazine, nope actually is looking because she flip the pages very fast and just to see cute guys. What I can't believe is, she actually smell the guy in the magazine and kiss it. OMG! Not only that, she even use the magazine rub to her neck to pretend that the guy in the magazine actually "kiss" her back? I think so. Her ending is like she is in a rush and then before she left the stage she took the magazine with her. Anyway, what she act just now I was wondering that does she do like this before? If that is true, aww really can't imagine. Overall her acting is good and situation quite detailed.

After a few of other students acting, now is Sam's turn. When he goes on stage, he carries a book and a pencil box. He starts to read the book and I know what is going on. TEST! and the way he puts down his book and I know that he is in the exam hall. One thing he did wrong is he imagine another people inside his scene and Mr. Rey tells him that he should only do an alone scene. After that, some of the students acting didn't make the situation clearly and Mr. Rey of course doesn't seem like it very much but every acting have everyone's applause.

Before the class end, Mr. Rey give us another assignment. Extension of the 1 minute acting to 2 minute acting. Within that 2 minute acting we can use maximum 3 props and I learn that every minutes of acting requires 30 minutes of rehearsal. I'll keep this in mind.

1st day of Theatre class (THTR 102)

3rd February 2012 ( Monday)

Today is my 1st day of Theatre class. I can't wait to attend it and this class started at 8am. I took the 7.30am bus to campus and I thought I'd manage to arrive on time but who knows the bus actually came late and it screwed up everything. Of course! I'm late! And I think I'm gonna give a bad impression to Mr. Rey ( Theatre Lecturer).

When I walk in the experimental theatre, 1st word came into my mind is SORRY! >.< I apologize to Mr. Rey for my lateness and he doesn't have any response. Well, I guess is a never mind? Next time I'll not be late again!!
After that, Mr Rey continue his introduction of THTR 102 and start to mark attendance.

Then warm up start! As usual, walk around then do some expression or emotion. This is interesting, Mr Rey wants us to run and bump into anyone and scream OMG! and this exercise continue with I LOVE YOU. Great, this is gonna be very awkward. I bump into a girl that I don't know and we both stun for a while. " I Love You" we both said, really awkward. Since it is an exercise so it doesn't matter anyway.

Next is the ball game and this exercise is from THTR 101. So is like a recap for me. This exercise starts with throwing a ball to another person and start counting. After that it continue with words, interesting part is singing. We need to count and sing together before we pass it to another person. This exercise ends when we reach the number 30. Overall, I can say we did not cooperate enough and I noticed that Mr. Rey actually didn't want to pick out our mistakes because we repeated this exercise quite sometime and is quite a waste of time if he picks out our mistakes.

Finally, class is going to end. Assignments awaiting!!! Oh no! STRESS! Well I think I stressed up because of my upcoming TOEFL exams at FEB 17 and is about 1 week for me to prepare >.< OK! Just give the best shot for this assignment and lucky that next week have 3 days of public holidays so that I can slowly do this assignment and prepare my TOEFL.
